Hi Amit,

I've been really busy today and didn't have a deep look at your proposed code.
However I see that what is missing is a documentation. Could you please give a
brief one in plain text? If you can do that, I will do my best to include it
tomorrow morning Sydney time when I branch 3.9 as planned in the roadmap ;-)
