[izpack-users] Setting "TargetPanel.dir" has no effect..

Hi Markus,
I do not know whether the docu is wrong or the usage will be a little
bit tricky. I know, that the way to resolve the default install path depending
to different OSes has a longly code. Some years ago I have written the
subpath "mimik" instead.
I have only little time and it works in my three installations since some years,
therefore this problem is not on the top of my made-stack for IzPack. If you
have time, look into the sources.

Cheers

Klaus

Ok, thanks, this works.
But still the documentation states, that it should work with that "TargetPanel.dir" thing.

Either the Code or the Documentation is wrong in this point.

Markus

Hi Markus,
use instead <info><appsubpath>, that works.
see docu subchapter "The Information Element <info>"

Hi
I am a new user of IzPack (3.9) and I am trying to set the default Installation Path displayed in the TargetPanel.
According to the Documentation, I have to save the Path in a Txt-File:

 TargetDir.txt:
$APPLICATIONS_DEFAULT_ROOT/Pulinco/MyProductXY

and declare that resource in the install.xml file.

The generated jar-file contains a file "TargetPanel.dir", which contains that String. So the compiler and the filepath in the installer.xml are ok.

It seems, that TargetPanel does not handle this setting correctly.

Any hints?

Thanks Markus
