[izpack-users] chmod error with executable

Hi all,
I  need to include a file that has executable rights after installation, but i keep getting this error:
error executing
/bin/chmod a + x /Beckettedition/open.sh

the line in the installer is
<executable targetfile="$INSTALL_PATH/open.sh" keep="true" stage="never"/>

and the open.sh is just a file that opens google.

any ideas what could be the problem?
