Just as an esoteric side note, I believe that some of the JVMs that run
on Linux (like Blackdown) use different names under Linux, like
GNU/Linux or something else. That should not be a problem for now,
since none of them provide a workable GUI.

(<rant>This stuff tickes me off. One of the major purposes for Java was
to make a program work the same on any platform and now some of the
open source implementations are already doing their own thing in some
places. I can understand Sun's reluctance and slowness in open
sourcing Java to make sure things like this don't happen. The
standards have been set -- it'd be nice if ALL versions or attempted
versions followed them so I don't have to re-write my code for some
versions!</rant>)
