But more than one other people have reported crashes with VM 1.5 if
native parts are used. Not since IzPack 3.8 else since the first 1.5 VM.

With a "normal" installation I have in the moment really rare crashes.
But with one which exit fast the crash is reproduceable. If needed,
I can send the used panel and build xml file. May be there is a
timing problem.

There are changes; in the java part and in the C part. E.g. 0.9.2005
I have made the Unicode port.
But I think the changes are not the problem. Crashes are existent before
them.
Crashes are if the ShellLink and/or Registry stuff used with outload
from the jar file and use the FreeThread from Librarian.cleanUp.
No crash seen if FreeThread will be not used.
I am not certain that the
FreeLibraryAndExitThread (handle, 0);
call in
JNIEXPORT void JNICALL Java_com_izforge_izpack_util_os_ShellLink_FreeLibrary
is really the problem, but there are more than one indicationes that
it is.
I am waiting more than a year that some one else fix the crash problem.
But now I need an IzPack version which is useable with VM 1.5 also
native parts are included. I make the way I have found; I do not
spend weeks to get a hard evidence for the reason.

If there is a version which do not crash with native part in it it will
be nice if you can write what version you use. Then there is a limit
above old versions. If I can reproduce the crashes with that version
we can concentrate us on fix the problem.
