My CVS->SVN switch went pretty smooth. :-)

I've prepared a small extension and fixed some bugs regarding automated
installation. 

I extended automated installation so that it will fail if some error
occurs and that it will actually pass on a usable exit code to the OS.

I'm just wondering where to commit these since I changed the
PanelAutomation interface to return a boolean for runAutomated. This
breaks third party panels supporting automation.

Should I commit to the 3.8 branch or to the trunk? Can I switch branches
with SVN as with CVS (keeping my modifications)?
